My Favorite Way to Start a “Me” Morning

I’ll be honest; I had a pretty rough day yesterday. Nothing in particular, but sometimes I struggle with my sense of self-worth, and some days are worse than others. With that being said, I woke up today and decided to do some things to take care of myself. A mental health day, if you will (although I’m still doing work, so not completely shirking my duties). I woke up and took a shower. I used my new Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Conditioner (which I still love, by the way). Then I came into the kitchen, made myself a French Vanilla Cappuccino in my Keurig, put it in my favorite Kentucky mug, and grabbed the bag of mini donuts I bought from Kroger yesterday as a treat. If you’re a Kentucky fan like me, you have to check out KY Branded. One of my good friends and her mom run both of their stores and their website. Their stuff is so cute, and reasonably priced compared to other collegiate apparel. Plus, they always have sales going on and do giveaways fairly often. I actually got this mug for free! Also not pictured is the water bottle to my right, because I’m trying to be better about staying hydrated. I’m listening to a country love songs playlist on my Spotify (some feel-good music) and burning a candle I got from Michaels (lavender and hyacinth, which I got 3 different big jar candles for $8 total the other day).

I won’t try to pretend that mental health is no big deal. I also won’t say I have a terrible case of it, because I know a lot of people have it really bad. But mine is mine, and I don’t know that this is the best way to deal with it, but sometimes it works for me. I have also started trying to journal to help me explore what I’m feeling, so I have words to put with it. How do you deal with anxiety or other mental health issues?
